A) The second season of “Kim’s Convenience.” It’s a comedy and I get to reprise my role as a quirky and very innocent pastor. I’ve been submerged in some pretty dark material lately, so spending the summer as a Pastor will be quite lovely.

Amanda Brugel Joins USA's ‘Eyewitness’

Amanda Brugel (Orphan Black) has been cast in a recurring role on USA Network’s 10-episode straight-to-series drama Eyewitness, an adaptation of the Norwegian crime thriller Øyevitne. From Shades of Blue creator Adi Hasak, Eyewitness explores a grisly crime from the point of view of the eyewitnesses. Catherine Hardwicke is set to direct the pilot. Brugel will play Sita, a feisty biker chick with a newborn baby and impulse-control issues. Brugel recurred on Orphan Blackand had a supporting role in Oscar-nominated Room. She’s repped by Authentic Talent & Literary Management and Parent Management in Canada.

Best Actress - Black Canadian Award Nomination

*UPDATE: (June 7 2015) Amanda Brugel is the Winner of the 2015 Best Actress Black Canadian Award.

Toronto, Canada) - The 2015 Black Canadian Awards will be held on Saturday June 6th in Toronto. An event focused on showcasing several industries and empowering the community. "The Book of Negroes" by Lawrence Hill is nominated for best writer and literary work and actors like Shailyn Pierre-Dixon and Lyriq Bent who championed the TV adaptation of the book aired on BET and CBC early this year are both nominees for their extraordinary acting roles. Emmanuel Jal who worked with Reese Witherspoon in the movie 'The Good Lie' also got nominated for best actor and best African style artist for his music album, both launched last summer.

The new Toronto Police chief Mark Saunders, a recipient in 2014, will be the keynote speaker with the theme "Dream Bigger, Aim Higher", sharing on his core principles of excellence and aiming for perfection.

This ceremony will also award through a nomination and voting process, various artists and genres of music such as Best RnB Artist, Best Jazz Artist and Best Actor, just to mention a few. It will also feature a unique charity and talent scholarship focused women empowerment program called the Black Canadian Queens for the year 2015. Cpl Nathan Cirillo, a national hero, patriot and a great Canadian, will be recognized with a posthumous award.

"It's very exciting and inspiring to have all this very talented, committed and hardworking people come together in celebrating such a remarkable work, while using their accomplishments to inspire the new generation", Says Paul Ade, the executive director of the Diversity Advancement Network.

This years honoree list is filled with newsworthy achievers like Dr Alvin Curling, Frantz Benjamin, Mohamed Salih, Elcho Stewart, Cpl. Nathan Cirillo, Emily Mills, Bishop McEwan Sr., Orlando Bowen, Mary Galvan, Ricardo McRae, Ammar Kamara, Kathy Grant, Mary Galvan, Orlando Bowen and others. For the second year, the awards will be presenting 100 role models and achievers for induction into the "Wall of Role Models" with their full stories and much more. Many dignitaries are expected at this formal red carpet event on June 6th from 5pm. The Award Ceremony will be hosted by Hodan Nalayeh of Integration TV and Randall Mitchell, a Toronto based TV host and Author. Amanda Brugel, Rick Roberts win at ACTRA Awards

Jeremy LaLonde’s Sex After Kids could get a box office bump after Amanda Brugel earned the best female performance trophy at the ACTRA Awards in Toronto on Saturday.  Brugel, who played Vanessa in the ensemble comedy now in commercial release, shared the spotlight at The Carlu with Rick Roberts, who won best male performance for his star turn as Jack Layton in the CBC biopic Jack.

BrugsArmy Launched

Inspired by and with the assistance of her loyal fanbase, Amanda will mentor a ground-breaking charitable organization determined to raise funds and garner attention for a variety of benevolent agencies, appropriately called; BrugsArmy.  The first recipient of an official BrugsArmy event will be Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital. 

MOTIVE: BrugsArmy is a non-profit, watchdog organization dedicated to raising funds through special events while promoting awareness for a variety of established charitable groups, focusing heavily on improving the lives of women and children.  With a strong national and international following, BrugsArmy is one of the cardinal volunteer organizations imagined and actively run through social media platforms. 

MISSION: To complement the service and core objectives of renowned charitable organizations; Assuring supplementary funding while supporting recognition and education within the community and beyond.  To look Hella Fine while doing it.

Amanda Brugel lands Feature Film "The Calling"

Amanda will be featured in The Calling - a supernatural thriller about a string of gruesome murders in the sleepy town of Port Dundas which brings the innocent community face to face with a serial killer driven by a higher calling.  Amanda plays a local cop struggling to piece together a murder scene staring Susan Sarandon and Topher Grace.

Amanda Brugel latest Celebrity Model for Dare to Wear Love 2013

Amanda Brugel partners with luxury designer Izzy Camilleri for a star-studded fashion runway event like no other; DARE TO WEAR LOVE.  Event founders Chris Tyrell and Jim Searle invite 25 top Canadian fashion designers to participate. Each is given six yards of African fabric from which to produce a one-of-a-kind ensemble, and the resulting creations are modelled at the gala by supermodels, dancers, musicians, and other celebrities, as well as winners of the Dare to Wear Love Challenge. The Gala raises funds to support the Stephen Lewis Foundation in its fight to turn the tide of AIDS in Africa.

Sex After Kids World Premiere

Canadian Indie Rom-Com will have it's World Premiere at the 2013 Santa Barbara Film Festival!  This edgy ensemble comedy follows a variety of relationships. Newlyweds with a newborn try to align their baby’s schedule and their libidos. An aloof single mom has a brother who insists that she should get back out in the world. A lesbian couple finds they don't share the same child-rearing principles. A single dad grows tired of one-night stands. Recent empty nesters wonder if they can find the spark that brought them together. And the wife in the high-powered couple who never planned to have children is now looking to become a soccer mom. Their relationships and ideals will be put to the test with the question: is it possible to have children and a sex life—and is it even worth it?
